How To Download UPD Firefox 54.0.1 For Mac
I was given an old, cleaned up Mac laptop circa around 2006. How can I get Firefox? I have tried to download it and it is resisting the process. Please help. I am sick of the censorship and other issues of using Google. Thanks!
How To Download Firefox 54.0.1 For Mac
Okay.....I have downloaded it (54.0.1) twice now today, and it takes me to a page with the Firefox logo, and arrow, and an App box. None of those will open the file and put in on for me. Now what? Thank you.
Can anyone give me the directory path to the Mozilla Firefox 54.0.1 (32 bit) cache? I had a desktop short cut to the cache on my previous version of Firefox. When I updated, the shortcut didn't work any more so I deleted it. Then I went looking for the new cache - and can't find it anywhere. (Windows 7's totally useless search function didn't help at all. Why does Microsoft so consistently discontinue good features of their op systems from later versions? Rhetorical question.)
I have Firefox 54.0.1 on Max OS-X 10.10.5. I must have closed my Firefox window without realizing it. I was checking an email and clicked a link to a google doc, which I quickly printed and then close the window. Then, when I went to go to my other firefox window, it was gone. Because I'd opened a new window (with the google doc) and closed it, not having realized I must have closed the previous window I had going rather than minimizing it, the "restore previous session" wasn't an option.
After having this problem multiple times, I switched Firefox to always restore my previous session at startup. That option is on the Preferences page as described in this article: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.
I have been using Firefox for a very long time, I have three add-ons 1/ Adblock Plus 2/ IDM (Internet Download Manager) 3/ Personas Plus. I never had any issues until I had upgraded to Firefox 54.0.1. I have found Firefox to be extremely slow from the time I open it.I had played around with disabling and enabling these add-ons and found that the updates of adblock is what makes Firefox to freeze and lag for about a minute before it starts working. I never had any problems prier to 54 update. I require the adblock updates as without them I get all the crap from advertising and other rubbish. I have never used Internet Explorer beforew and I had to get a friend to show me to work it and found that even with all the add-ons that I have on Firefox Internet Explorer was Extremely Fast.I don't really want to go to Internet Explorer but I don't want to be waiting for ever or so it seems with Firefox to start working.I would like to know what has happened to Firefox and it's gone from the best web browser to the well nowhere near its capabilities..I already had lagging and freezing point while writing this issue. It is very frustrating to see a top rated web browser doing such negative things. If anyone can help on this issue please let me know as I still want Firefox to be my only Web Browser. Thanks in advance.

This Question have been surfacing out quite often for sometime now since we migrated from the legacy Firefox releases to Marionette based Mozilla Firefox releases (beginning with Firefox 48). It is not clear what exactly you mean by the code was working with geckodriver-v0.16.1 for older firefox versions.

Mozilla put of a lot of resources into creating a simple but effective UI aimed at making browsing quicker and easier. They created the tab structure that has been adopted by most other browsers. In recent years Mozilla has also focused on maximizing browsing area by simplifying toolbar controls to just a Firefox button (which contains settings and options) and back/forward buttons. The URL box features direct Google searching as well as an auto predict/history feature called Awesome Bar. On the right side of the URL box there are bookmarking, history and refresh buttons. To the right of the URL box is a search box which allows you to customize your search engine options. Outside of that a view button controls what you see below the URL. Next to that you have the download history and home buttons.
Firefox was the first browser to introduce a private browsing feature which allows you to use the internet more anonymously and securely. History, searches, passwords, downloads, cookies and cached content are all removed on shutdown. Minimizing the chances of another user stealing your identity or finding confidential information. Content security, anti-phishing technology and antivirus/antimalware integration ensures your browsing experience is as safe as possible.

After a manual check:I manually checked things because I wanted to be certain that I hadn't made some sort of mistake. spctl says it's rejected but it can still open. Tor Browser shouldn't be allowed to run with my current ruleset that doesn't have a gatekeeper exception and with me only allowing apps from the App Store. If I download the Tor Browser Bundle from the Tor Project's website and try to open it I'm denied. Is gatekeeper not checking apps in /Applications/, or since I've run in the past - is there a separate exception list outside of gatekeeper, if so how would one reset that list as well? (Note: I did a reboot after the reset to default to be safe and the question still remains). Since I reset gatekeeper the apps hash is no longer exempt.
If I remember correctly executables are only checked by Gatekeeper if they have the quarantine filesystem attribute attached. And the quarantine filesystem attribute is (optionally) added by applications which download files from the internet.
So if Gatekeeper is not checking files it could be because the quarantine attribute has already been removed (after a successful check) or because they were downloading using an application that doesn't apply them in the first place (for example I think some torrent applications don't apply them, whereas most if not all web browsers do).
For example I just downloaded Firefox using the Safari web browser so if I run ls -l@ Firefox\ 54.0.1.dmg to show any attached file system attributes I get the following, which includes the quarantine tag...
